Job summary

Health New Zealand – Te Whatu Ora seeks a Clinical Nurse Educator for the Critical Care Department at Whangarei Hospital. The role is permanent part-time (0.7 FTE), 28 hours per week with rostered shifts, focusing on education and clinical mentorship in ICU.

You will deliver unit-based learning, support staff development, and guide professional practice while contributing to the department's future workforce and clinical excellence.

Qualifications

• Registration with Nursing Council of New Zealand and an active Annual Practising Certificate.
• Postgraduate qualification in nursing or education relevant to critical care.
• Experience in acute intensive care nursing and unit-based teaching.
• Ability to coordinate education programmes and mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate education programmes to enhance clinical knowledge and practice in ICU.
• Deliver unit-based learning opportunities and act as a clinical resource and mentor.
• Support staff development and contribute to future workforce capability.
