Job summary

Freeflow Drain Specialists in Auckland is seeking up to 5 experienced Hydrovac Operators to deliver safe, precise, non-destructive excavation and drainage works. The role combines operating hydroexcavation trucks and site leadership with paperwork and route maintenance.

You will supervise Hydrovac Labourers, conduct pre/post-trip inspections, and manage dewatering tasks. Minimum 3 years' experience or NZ Certificate Level 4, fitness, and a health & safety commitment are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' excavation operator experience.
• Good physical fitness and outdoor work readiness.
• Commitment to health and safety; follow SOPs and client requirements.
• Desirable: Confined Space, First Aid, WTR endorsement, STMS/TC.

Responsibilities

• Complete hydro excavation projects including exposure of utilities and debris removal.
• Operate Hydrovac trucks and equipment safely and professionally.
• Supervise Hydrovac Labourers to develop their skills.
• Set up and inspect grounding/bonding procedures for Hydrovac work.
• Complete paperwork on time and perform inspections.
• Visit sites to assess sewer or stormwater issues and plan dewatering.
• Read plans and determine required equipment and tools.
