Job summary

Mott MacDonald in Auckland is seeking a Hydraulic Modeller to deliver hydraulic modelling and network planning for water and wastewater schemes across New Zealand.

You’ll apply tools like InfoWorks WS Pro, EPANET, and ArcGIS while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams nationwide. The role emphasises rigorous analysis, clear client communication, and delivering practical, data-driven solutions that improve resilient water infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Experience (min 2 years) in water/wastewater network planning and hydraulic modelling.
  • Strong analytical thinking and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
  • A degree in Engineering, Science, Geography, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to hydraulic modelling and network planning projects across water and / or wastewater systems
  • Develop and refine models to support strategic master planning and infrastructure development
  • Apply your knowledge in software platforms such as InfoWorks WS Pro, EPANET, InfoWorks ICM, DHI MIKE+, ArcGIS, and QGIS
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Auckland, Wellington, and nationally
  • Communicate insights and solutions clearly to clients and stakeholders
  • Learn from team members and contribute to a culture of learning and excellence
