Job summary

Hato Hone St John is seeking a Procurement Business Partner to build trusted relationships across the organisation and translate business needs into practical procurement solutions that deliver value and reduce risk.

Based in New Zealand with a hybrid working model, you will lead end-to-end sourcing, engage stakeholders, and champion best-practice procurement to support our health and community outcomes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in strategic sourcing or end-to-end procurement, with a strong understanding of commercial principles and value delivery.
• Demonstrated experience independently leading procurement activities and sourcing projects, including engaging stakeholders and delivering commercial outcomes.
• Enjoys building trusted relationships and partnering with stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
• Adaptable, curious, and committed to continuous learning. We value capability, mindset and drive.

Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships across the organisation, becoming a trusted advisor who helps teams make informed commercial decisions and achieve their objectives.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing and procurement initiatives across a diverse range of categories, balancing commercial outcomes, risk management, and organisational priorities.
• Identify and deliver commercial opportunities that generate measurable savings, cost avoidance, service improvements, or broader business value.
• Partner closely with stakeholders to understand business needs, challenge thinking constructively, and identify opportunities to maximise value.
• Drive the implementation of procurement best practice and contribute to the successful delivery of our Procurement Strategy.
• Use spend insights, market intelligence, and data-driven analysis to uncover opportunities and support robust decision-making.
• Champion a value-focused approach to procurement that improves efficiency, strengthens supplier outcomes, and supports organisational sustainability goals.
• Support contract and supplier management activities to ensure suppliers deliver against expectations and organisational objectives.
