Placements24 is seeking a detail-oriented Mine Surveyor for our client in Queenstown, Eastern Cape, operating in a hybrid setup. The role focuses on mapping underground and surface mine workings and providing precise spatial data for planning and control.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in mining surveying, strong geomatics knowledge, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Surpac, or Deswik. Regular site visits plus office data processing define the work pattern.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Diploma in Surveying/Geomatics or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of Mine Surveyor experience, open-pit or underground.
• Proficiency with modern surveying instruments and techniques.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Surpac, Deswik or similar software.
• Strong spatial data management and mapping skills.
• Hybrid work environment with regular site visits to the mine.

Responsibilities

• Conduct surface and underground surveys to establish control networks and map mine excavations.
• Measure and record ore and waste volumes for production reporting.
• Operate total stations, GPS, laser scanners, and other surveying instruments.
• Process survey data with software to create maps and models.
• Ensure accuracy of mine plans and adherence to designs.
• Collaborate with mine planning engineers and geologists for survey data.
• Maintain calibration and care of surveying equipment.
• Follow safety procedures during fieldwork.
