Job summary

OPPO New Zealand is seeking an Assistant Accountant on a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the potential to transition to a permanent role. You will support our Finance function, work closely with the NZ team, and collaborate with Australia across finance and operations teams.

Responsibilities include AR activities, bank reconciliations, supplier/client statement reconciliations, inventory registrations, debtor management, and month-end journals.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Xero processing high volumes of sales invoices.
• Intermediate Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage accounts receivable efficiently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional customer service and stakeholder management.
• Understanding of New Zealand legislation relevant to finance and payroll.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase orders and accounts receivable activities.
• Assist with bank payments and reconciliations.
• Monitor, process, and report supplier and client statement reconciliations.
• Register inventory and perform stock reconciliations.
• Follow up outstanding payments and manage debtor balances.
• Support month-end processes: journals, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Provide ad-hoc finance analysis and support as required.
