Overview

Looking to make an impact before the year ends? We're on the hunt for a skilled HVAC Technician to join a high-performing team in Grenada North, Wellington. This short-term role runs through to Christmas, with the possibility of extension for the right person. If you're hands-on, safety-focused, and keen to work on something a bit different-like trains-this could be your next move.

Roles Available

We want to hear from you if you have experience in:

  • HVAC systems servicing and repair
  • Mechanical and electrical fault finding
  • Rail or heavy vehicle maintenance (preferred)
Responsibilities
  • Overhauling, repairing and testing HVAC components on rail vehicles
  • Following detailed drawings, task instructions, and safety procedures
  • Documenting all work completed, including testing outcomes
  • Reporting any non-conforming components or tooling
  • Suggesting design improvements to enhance product performance
  • Maintaining tools and equipment to ensure safe operation
  • Supporting wider service and operational needs as required
What You Need
  • Trade Certificate in Engineering (mechanical or electrical) or equivalent experience
  • Valid motor vehicle driver licence
  • Gas handling ticket (essential)
  • Bonus if you hold: Forklift licence, First Aid/CPR/AED, Fire extinguisher training, Gantry crane and Rigger certificates
  • Applicants must have the current right to work in New Zealand
  • Pre-employment Drug & Alcohol screening test
  • Ministry of Justice criminal background checks as part of standard process
