Job description

Job Description: HVAC Service Technician

Join our service team as an HVAC Service Technician, responding to client requirements including maintenance, service, and remedial tasks. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  1. Servicing and commissioning commercial air conditioning systems, including VRF or VRV, chillers, and heat pumps.
  2. Performing preventative maintenance and servicing.
  3. Fault diagnostics and repairs.
  4. Refurbishing refrigeration systems, diagnosing faults, and replacing faulty mechanisms.
  5. Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults in HVAC systems.
  6. Cleaning, adjusting, repairing systems, and performing warranty services.
  7. Carrying out emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
  8. Building strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  9. Maintaining high standards and quality assurance procedures, including OSH requirements, in accordance with company and customer H&S policies.
  10. Working with electronic daily job allocation schedules.
  11. Completing jobs within estimated time frames and all relevant paperwork.
  12. Keeping logs and records of maintenance functions.
  13. Working independently and being available for on-call duties.
Skills and Experience:
  1. Valid full NZ driver’s license.
  2. EWRB limited electrical license beneficial, not essential.
  3. L4 Trade certificate or L5 advanced trade certificate in refrigeration and air conditioning.
  4. Registered Refrigerant handlers’ certificate beneficial.
  5. Relevant work experience as an HVAC/R Service Technician or relevant trade qualifications.
  6. Experience in HVAC commercial project installs, repairs, and maintenance.
  7. Experience in telecommunication maintenance beneficial.
  8. Gas and fillers license beneficial.
  9. Valid Site Safe certification beneficial but not essential.
  10. Motivated with a positive attitude, able to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  11. Strong understanding of workplace health and safety.
  12. Good time management skills.
  13. Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  14. Availability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
