Mogi I/O, Timaru, is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to partner with senior leaders, shaping strategic HR initiatives and workforce planning across hospital and specialist services.

You will lead employee relations, advise on employment legislation, support change management, and promote an inclusive workplace, drawing on NZ Health & Safety rules and Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.

• Must have senior HR business partnering experience.
• Knowledge of NZ employment and Health & Safety legislation.
• Experience advising senior leaders on workforce issues.
• Experience in unionised, geographically dispersed organisations.
• Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in HR strategy and workplace practices.

Job Overview

• We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to partner with senior leaders, deliver strategic HR initiatives, and support organisational development, workforce planning, and transformation across hospital and specialist services.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with senior leaders to align HR strategies with organisational objectives.
• Provide expert advice on HR policies, employment legislation, and workforce matters.
• Lead employee relations, change management, and organisational transformation initiatives.
• Improve employee engagement, performance, productivity, and organisational capability.
• Build strong relationships with managers, employees, unions, and HR teams.
• Support strategic workforce planning and promote an inclusive, equitable workplace.

Key Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of experience in senior HR business partnering roles.
• Strong experience in complex, unionised, and geographically dispersed organisations.
• Proven expertise in employment relations, organisational change, and strategic HR management.
• Strong knowledge of New Zealand employment and Health & Safety legislation.
• Experience advising senior leaders and managing sensitive workforce issues.
• Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
• Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application to HR strategy and workplace practices.
• Healthcare or public sector experience is highly desirable.
