HOUSING CO-ORDINATOR - Transitional Housing

The YWCA Christchurch provides transitional housing across three sites, supporting vulnerable individuals and whānau in our community. We believe that safe and secure housing is the foundation for a better life, and we are committed to assisting people into sustainable long-term homes.

We are seeking a dedicated Housing Co-ordinator to join our Transitional Housing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support clients throughout their housing journey, empowering them to achieve independence and stability.
  • Ensure all accommodation is maintained to a high standard and meets organisational requirements.
  • Collaborate with community partners, agencies, stakeholders and contractors to achieve positive housing outcomes.
  • Assist whānau and individuals to transition successfully into safe, sustainable long-term housing.
  • Maintain accurate client records and contribute to reporting and compliance requirements.

Key Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals and whānau.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Experience in housing support, or a related sector is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving mindset with resilience and adaptability in challenging situations.
  • Experience in Xero and Microsoft applications.

Location: Christchurch
Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week & participation in after-hours on-call roster)
