Job summary

Oaks Wellington Hotel, part of Minor Hotels, is expanding its housekeeping department with a dual role for Guest Room Cleaning and Common Area Cleaning & Guest Support. You will uphold high cleanliness standards and assist guests as needed to enhance their stay.

The role offers a rotating schedule across the week with weekend work and pays NZD 25 per hour. Prior housekeeping experience and a proactive attitude are highly valued, with training provided.

Qualifications

• Prior housekeeping or cleaning experience is advantageous.
• Good physical stamina for repetitive tasks and standing for long periods.
• Strong attention to detail and high cleanliness standards.
• Professional communication with guests, colleagues and contractors.
• Ability to manage time and priorities effectively.
• Flexible availability including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly clean guest rooms (beds, vacuuming, bathrooms).
• Complete daily cleaning tasks within allocated hours.
• Collaborate with team to meet cleaning targets and goals.
• Clean and maintain shared guest areas to high standards.
• Assist guests with after-hours enquiries and address issues promptly.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely with full training provided.
• Build positive relationships with guests, colleagues and contractors.

This dual role combinesGuest Room CleaningwithCommon Area Cleaning & Guest Supportresponsibilities.You’ll play a vital part in ensuring an exceptional guest experience by maintaining our high standards of cleanliness, while also assisting guests as needed.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Guest Room Cleaning

• Thoroughly clean guest rooms, including making beds, vacuuming, and cleaning bathrooms to ensure a pristine environment.
• Complete daily cleaning tasks efficiently within the allocated hours.
• Collaborate with team members to meet cleaning targets and operational goals.

Common Area Cleaning & Guest Support

• Clean and maintain all shared guest areas to the highest standards, ensuring spaces remain hygienic and visually appealing.
• Assist with after-hours guest enquiries, whileaddressing issues promptly.
• Operate specialised cleaning equipment and products safely and effectively (with full training provided).
• Build positive, professional relationships with guests, colleagues, and contractors.

Shift Details(subject to change):

• Rotating roster across Monday to Sunday
• Must be available to work weekends
• $25per hour NZD

Qualifications

Successful candidates will have:

• Prior experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles will be highly regarded.
• Good physical fitness and stamina, with the ability to perform repetitive tasks such as bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Basic understanding of safe handling and usage of cleaning chemicals and equipment (training will be provided).
• Professional and clear communication skills to interact with guests, team members, and contractors.
• Strong time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
• A positive and proactive attitude with a strong work ethic.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
