Job summary

Hilton in Taupo is seeking a Grounds and Facilities Assistant to support the daily maintenance of hotel grounds and facilities. You will perform groundskeeping, general maintenance tasks, and assist with pool and spa upkeep to ensure guest safety and a memorable stay.

The role emphasizes hands-on work across gardening, painting, plumbing, carpentry, and equipment operation, with opportunities to contribute to a hospitable guest experience. Weekend and holiday shifts are required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in gardening, groundskeeping, landscaping, or similar outdoor maintenance role.
• Strong practical skills across general building maintenance, or plumbing, or electrical, or mechanical work.
• Commitment to health, safety, and maintaining high work standards.
• Hands-on team player with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and respond quickly to maintenance needs.
• Available to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hotel grounds, gardens, lawns, and landscaped areas to a high standard.
• Perform general maintenance repairs and upkeep, including basic painting, plumbing, carpentry, and repair work.
• Operate maintenance and gardening equipment safely and report faults promptly.
• Assist with pool and spa testing and maintenance for guest safety and enjoyment.
