Job summary

Health New Zealand |Te Whatu Ora Lakes in Taupo Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician on a fixed-term basis (parental leave). Working Monday to Friday, 0.8 FTE, you will support the pharmacy team to ensure safe, accurate dispensing and timely medication supply.

You’ll collaborate with pharmacists, clinicians and nurses, handle non-sterile compounding, stock control, and participate in ongoing projects like Pyxis automation, contributing to patient safety and excellent care.

Qualifications

• NZ Certified Pharmacy Technician Level 4/5/6 with or without a PACT qualification.
• Flexible team player with a diligent approach to work.
• Problem solver with a positive can-do attitude.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, time management, reliable and accurate.

Responsibilities

• Dispense a wide range of pharmaceuticals and prepare non-sterile compounded products.
• Assist with stock management to maintain optimal inventory levels.
• Support nurses and other healthcare professionals with information and guidance.
• Contribute to patient safety and high-quality patient care in a busy hospital setting.
