Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a Pharmacist to join the Dispensary, Procurement and Supply team in Hamilton. The role involves clinical checking of medication charts, medicines final checking and involvement in procurement activities, with mentoring of technicians and a liaison role across the service.

You will work in the hospital dispensary and spend time in procurement, contributing to medication safety and possibly clinical trials.

Qualifications

• Full registration with Pharmacy Council of NZ, with a current Pharmacist Annual Practising Certificate or to be gained within 3 months of supervised practice.
• Ability to teach, mentor and supervise others.
• Experience as a pharmacist in a community or hospital setting is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Dispensary pharmacist roles including clinical checking of medication charts and final medicines checking.
• Participation in procurement activities with pharmacist oversight and advice.
• Mentoring and supervision of pharmacy technicians and assistants.
• Serve as a liaison with other pharmacists across the service and support on-site community pharmacy.
