Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking an Allied Health Assistant to join a START team delivering home-based rehabilitation, helping people regain function after injury. You will work under Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists, supporting prescribed therapy, promoting independence in daily living, and demonstrating adaptive equipment to maximise safety in patients' homes.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, particularly with older people and team members.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with prescribed therapy programmes and promote independence in daily living and personal cares.
• Assist clinicians in therapy sessions.
• Demonstrate how to use adaptive equipment to maximise independence and safety.
• Provide support to patients in restoring function and independence in home settings.
