Job summary

Outlier is seeking a HITL Responsible Engineer to own the design, development, operation and continuous improvement of hardware-in-the-loop test platforms for high-fidelity spacecraft testing. You will validate avionics, GNC, flight software, mechanical and ground systems through integrated environments.

You will act as the technical authority for HITL systems, designing architectures, implementing test infrastructure, and interfacing with spacecraft subsystems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in a relevant engineering field or equivalent.
• Experience designing and building HITL/PIL test systems.
• Strong debugging of hardware/software integration issues and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture, build, and operation of HITL systems for end-to-end spacecraft testing.
• Maintain high fidelity, low-latency performance and integration budgets per mission needs.
• Design interfaces, data models, schematics, test procedures, and verification frameworks.
• Develop scalable, high-reliability infrastructure for testing and simulation environments.
• Ensure platforms meet performance, reliability, and test-coverage standards.
