Are you an experienced Hiab operator who takes pride in getting the job done safely, accurately and on time? CARTERS New Plymouth Manufacturing is looking for a reliable Hiab Driver to join the team. You will be delivering timber and building products to customers across the New Plymouth region, providing quality service and reliability, all while keeping safety and customer relationships a top priority.
About the Role
- Efficiently load and deliver orders, navigating various residential and commercial construction sites
- Hands-on experience operating a Hiab crane, with a strong understanding of load limits, safe rigging, and slinging safety requirements
- Deliver exceptional customer service to all, whether on-site or off-site, ensuring their needs are met to the highest standard
- Support the yard team when required to load and unload delivery vans and trucks
- Recommend suitable products tailored to customer preferences
- Maintain cleanliness and uphold safety standards through general branch housekeeping
About You
You will be the perfect fit for this role if you are committed to delivering exceptional customer service and have the following skills, qualities, and certifications.
- Hiab licence and experience
- Forklift F Endorsed licence with OSH certificate
- Valid full Class 1 New Zealand driver's licence
- Solid understanding of load restraint and NZ load securing requirements
- Experience navigating tight residential construction sites with overhead hazards and soft ground
- A team-focused attitude with a positive, can-do approach, and the ability to build rapport with our customers
- Strong communication skills and a professional approach, with the ability to work to tight delivery schedules
- Physically fit, with a safety-conscious approach to manual handling
- Strong safety awareness and understanding of relevant regulations
- Confident navigating computer systems, with a firm grasp of technology
- Building industry knowledge an advantage
