Job summary

Canstaff in Hamilton, New Zealand is seeking a well-rounded Machine Operator to join a well-established team. You will operate excavators and other heavy equipment as part of civil construction/earthworks projects.

You should be physically fit, able to work autonomously or in a team, perform daily maintenance and safety checks, and follow management instructions in all weather and locations.

Qualifications

• Experience operating excavators and heavy equipment.
• Civil construction/earthworks experience preferred.
• Physically fit and able to work autonomously or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Operation of an excavator and other heavy equipment (roller) in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Performing daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
• Operation of heavy equipment and other construction-related duties as required.
• Follow management instructions.
• Environmental adaptability able to work inside and outside in all weather conditions, and various locations.

To be successful in this role you need to have:

• Experience in operating a range of machinery (particularly digger & roller)
• Experience working on civil construction/earthworks (drainage experience advantageous)
• You will need to be physically fit and have the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
