Job summary

HEB Construction in Tauranga is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join our Bay of Plenty Civil team. You will operate excavators safely on civil sites and contribute to iconic regional projects.

Key duties include deep excavations for foundations, services, and drainage, trenching, backfilling, and earthworks. We value a strong safety culture and teamwork on time, to spec delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience operating excavators on civil construction sites.
• Knowledge of trench safety and working around live services.
• WTR endorsement (Class 2 or higher licence preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform deep excavations for foundations, services and structures.
• Assist with drainage installation, trenching, backfilling and site preparation.

What you'll be doing

Operating excavators safely and efficiently on civil construction sites

Carrying out deep excavations for foundations, services, and structures

Working on drainage installation (stormwater, wastewater, and other services)

Assisting with trenching, backfilling, and site preparation

Supporting the team to deliver earthworks and pavement projects on time, to spec, and safely

What we're looking for

Proven experience operating excavators in heavy civil construction

Competency with trench shoring, trench safety, and working around live services

A current WTR endorsement (Class 2 or higher licence preferred)

Commitment to health & safety and working as part of a team
