Employer Sponsored Jobs in Auckland seeks a skilled Heavy Excavator Operator for a permanent yard team. You will operate 30-tonne+ machines with shear, grapple and magnet, handling scrap from breaking down heavy steel to filling bulk containers for export.

This is a full-time role with 30–50 hours per week and potential AEWV sponsorship for qualified international applicants. Requirements include a NZ Class 1 licence with a WTR endorsement preferred, strong spatial awareness around other staff

• Maintain safety standards and spatial awareness around trucks and staff.

An Auckland metal recycler needs a skilled Heavy Excavator Operator for its permanent yard team. The business wants someone who is safe, professional and efficient on a 30-tonne tracked excavator that switches between a shear, a grapple and a magnet.

The employer is after an operator who can manage every stage of scrap handling, from breaking down heavy steel to filling bulk containers for export. Hours are full-time with at least 30 a week and regular weeks of up to 50.

The employer refers to potential AEWV sponsorship support for highly qualified international applicants, whether they are onshore already or ready to move to New Zealand.

• Downsize automotive bodies, machinery and structural steel using the shear attachment
• Feed balers and shredders and sort metals with the grapple
• Keep processing lanes clean and stockpile ferrous material with the magnet, then load out export containers

• Excavator operation on 30-tonne-plus machines in a scrap metal yard, heavy demolition or quarry environment, with direct and confident use of a hydraulic shear, grapple and magnet (essential)
• Valid NZ Class 1 licence with a WTR endorsement (highly preferred)
• Sharp awareness of space around working trucks, machinery and staff on foot
• Able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
