Terra Cat has 18 facilities nationwide, offering Caterpillar range machines, engines and technology solutions. We’re seeking a Heavy Diesel Technician to join our Component Rebuild Centre in Hornby, Canterbury, working on engines, driveline or hydraulics and taking ownership of safety and admin.

You’ll contribute to high-quality rebuilds for mining and construction equipment, with modern testing facilities and a supportive team focused on growth.

Qualifications

• Experienced Heavy Diesel Technician with background in plant/equipment or component rebuilds.

Responsibilities

• Strip down, inspect and rebuild components from premium equipment.
• Use modern testing facilities to ensure rebuilt meets high standards.
• Work mainly on equipment from the mining and construction industries.
• Take ownership of health and safety, job paperwork and admin.
• Share ideas to improve how we work and keep raising the bar.

We’re on the lookout for an experienced Heavy Diesel Technician with a background in plant and equipment or component rebuilds to join our growing team.

What you’ll be doing

In this specialised role, you’ll be part of our engines, driveline or hydraulics teams, where you’ll:

• Strip down, inspect and rebuild components from premium equipment




• Use our modern testing facilities to ensure every rebuild meets a high standard




• Work mainly on equipment from the mining and construction industries




• Take ownership of health and safety, job paperwork and admin




• Share ideas to improve how we work and keep raising the bar

You’ll be based in our state‑of‑the‑art rebuild facility in Hornby, fully kitted out with the tools you need and backed by a supportive, knowledgeable team who genuinely want to see you grow.
