Auckland Council’s Healthy Waters department has an opportunity for an Intercommunications Specialist to join the team.

The Healthy Waters Intercommunications Specialist is responsible for delivering effective, efficient, and engaging communications and engagement strategies for Healthy Waters projects.

This role requires creativity, innovation, and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.

Day-to-day you could expect to work on:

  • Develop and implement communication and engagement strategies to support Healthy Waters infrastructure projects.
  • Create compelling content for various channels, ensuring consistency with the Healthy Waters brand.
  • Assist the Customer Enhancement & Communications Team Manager in media responses and reputation management.
  • Foster positive relationships both internally and externally.
  • Promote a culture of innovation and suggest new technologies and practices.
  • Adhere to Auckland Council's conduct expectations and demonstrate inclusivity and adaptability.
  • Help shape Auckland’s stormwater future.

Key Outcomes:

  • Support Healthy Waters' leadership and project teams in achieving communication and engagement objectives.
  • Maintain consistent and high-quality brand elements.
  • Meet project objectives within the defined timelines and budget.
  • Ensure compliance with Auckland Council frameworks.

He kōrero mōu: About you

This role requires experience in similar communication or engagement roles, with a sound understanding of creating and implementing successful communication and engagement plans.

We will be looking for specific experience of:

  • Working well in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Designing, leading and executing communication and engagement plans
  • Copywriting and strategy writing
  • Strong customer/stakeholder focus
  • Working with technical terms and translating them into language suitable for different audiences
  • Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills
