Job summary

MAS Holdings in Wellington is seeking a Healthy Practice Adviser on a 15-month fixed-term contract to support medical and allied health practices across New Zealand. Responsibilities

• Provide guidance across the employee lifecycle as a trusted partner to healthcare practices.
• Advise on employment relations matters, people processes, recruitment, performance management and disciplinary matters.
• Develop practical resources and templates and deliver employment relations presentations to health sector audiences.
• Balance advisory work with building client relationships and contributing to service growth.

Are you an experienced Human Resources Adviser looking for an opportunity to make a real difference?

We're looking for a practical, relationship-focused Human Resources professional to join our Healthy Practice team on a 15-month fixed-term contract as a Healthy Practice Adviser. This is an opportunity to use your employment relations expertise to support medical and allied health practices across New Zealand, helping them navigate people challenges with confidence and providing advice that is practical, commercially sound, and people focused. This role will commence in early October 2026 and will be based in our Wellington Office.

About the role

As a Healthy Practice Adviser, you'll be a trusted partner to healthcare practices, providing guidance across the employee lifecycle. You'll work closely with practice owners and managers, offering advice on employment relations matters, people processes, recruitment, performance management, disciplinary matters, restructures, policies, and workplace best practice.

No two days are the same. You'll balance advisory work with building strong client relationships, developing practical resources and templates, and contributing to the ongoing success and growth of the Healthy Practice service. You'll have opportunities to expand your expertise and presentation skills, representing the organisation and delivering employment relations presentations to audiences across the health sector, including at organisational level and conferences.

What you'll bring

We're looking for someone who can quickly build credibility and provide pragmatic advice in a way that is easy for others to understand and apply.

You'll ideally have:

• Previous experience in an HR Adviser, or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation and HR best practice.
• Practical experience supporting performance management, disciplinary processes, investigations and other employment relations matters.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to build trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
