Job summary

Health NZ Counties Manukau is seeking a compassionate Health Care Assistant to join Ward 8, a surgical setting, to support busy clinical teams and contribute to high-quality patient care.

With 1+ year experience in a NZ surgical ward and a Level 4 HCA certificate (or equivalent), you will work closely with RNs, assist with day-to-day tasks, and develop skills in areas such as wound care, stoma care, and manual handling, while enjoying rostered shifts.

Qualifications

• 1+ years Health Care Assistant experience in a surgical setting in New Zealand.
• Level 4 NZ Health Care Assistant certificate or equivalent (to be assessed).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist RNs with day-to-day patient care on Ward 8.
• Contribute to wound care, stoma care and monitoring under supervision.
• Support patients and families and help maintain organisation and care quality.

About the role:

Our great team in Ward 8 are looking for a compassionate and dedicated a Health Care Assistant to join this amazing team. Ward 8 is a surgical ward so ideally you will have a least 12 months surgical experience. The working environment is fantastic, and of course an extremely motivated and professional team of people to work with. Team work is a big part of working on Ward 8 so if you have a passion for sharing your knowledge and experience with the rest of our team, passionate about making a difference in the lives of others and have a commitment to providing high-quality care, you would be a real asset. If you enjoy the challenge of working on busy ward and are looking to for the perfect opportunity to expand your skill base in areas such as Stoma Care, Wound Management, manual handling and monitoring skills while developing your clinical education with the assistance of funding, this could be the perfect place for you.
