Job summary

Kaan’s is seeking a Health & Safety professional to provide dedicated support across our Dunedin operation. You will promote safe, practical ways of working, identify hazards and drive risk reduction, while ensuring H&S systems are effectively implemented across the business.

Reporting to the Operations Manager and leaders, you will work hands-on with teams to improve safety day-to-day and support external partners in injury management and return-to-work processes.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Health & Safety Officer, Coordinator or Advisor role.
• Good working knowledge of NZ Health & Safety legislation and best practice.
• Experience across hazard management, incident investigations and corrective action.
• Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to engage with people at all levels.
• Practical and solutions-focused with the ability to balance safety and operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of the Health & Safety plan across the business.
• Identify hazards and assess risks in collaboration with teams.
• Coordinate hazard and incident investigations, reporting and corrective actions.
• Maintain and improve H&S and wellbeing systems and processes.
• Support compliance, injury management and return-to-work processes with ACC and providers.
