A health promotion organization in Alexandra is seeking a Health Promotion Specialist to empower communities and enhance health outcomes. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years' experience in public health and demonstrate leadership and cultural safety. The Health Promotion Specialist (HPS) is a vital role embedded in our equity team, with a strong focus on empowering communities and integrating health promotion throughout all WellSouth teams and activities. It will support general practice to improve the health and wellbeing outcomes across the Southern Region. The HPS will ensure a particular focus on WellSouth equity projects as well as community projects for Māori, Pacific and other priority populations.
The HPS will contribute to improved health outcomes through projects that align with the WellSouth strategy and objectives through evidence-based and cost-effective actions.
This role requires a proactive, collaborative individual passionate about public health and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. While working independently on projects, you'll be an integral part of the Equity Team working in collaboration on shared health and equity targets reflecting both national and regional priorities and the integration of these across WellSouth.
