Job summary

The Ministry of Health in Wellington is seeking an Advisor to contribute to a varied programme of work, providing high-quality advice, research and analysis to support policy and decision-making. You’ll work collaboratively across the Ministry and with stakeholders to develop and deliver policies, programmes and initiatives that support equitable health outcomes for New Zealanders.

Join a team within the Determinants of Health that acts as the Government's lead advisor on health policy,

Qualifications

Strong analytical and research skills, capable of evaluating information and making evidence-based recommendations.
Excellent written and verbal communication, tailoring messages for diverse audiences.
Sound judgement, critical thinking, and attention to detail when handling complex information.
Proven ability to manage competing priorities, work proactively and deliver quality outcomes on deadlines.
Strong relationship management and collaborative stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

Provide high-quality advice, briefings, reports, and recommendations to support decision-making.
Research and analyse complex issues, identifying risks, opportunities and practical solutions.
Support the delivery of projects, policies, programmes and initiatives to achieve outcomes.
Build strong relationships with stakeholders across government, health sector, and community partners.
