Our Enliven services create age-friendly communities where people are happy and thrive, regardless of their age or ability. Our homes and villages are places where older people have companionship, choice, variety, fun, meaningful activity and a sense of purpose.

At Huntleigh Home there are lots of shared spaces, including lounges and courtyards. This is where you’ll find residents reading, socialising, hosting visitors, attending concerts and taking part in the many recreation activities on offer. A highlight for many residents and visitors is the fabulous shop and café. Known as the Trading Post, the shop is run by residents and volunteers. You’ll often find avid conversations happening in the café.

Mō te tūranga - About the role

As a Health Care Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to our residents in their daily living and social requirements. You will also encourage residents to maintain their independence and make decisions for themselves. The role is 20 - 30 hours minimum rotating shifts.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
  • Deliver the highest standard of personalised care to every Resident
  • Support and encourage residents to maintain their independence and make decisions for themselves
  • Assist and support the activities of daily living in a way that meets the Eden principles and the Domains of Wellbeing
  • Take instruction and tasks from the Registered Nurse
  • Ensure resident’s needs are attended to effectively and in a timely manner

We work with a fixed roster so you can plan ahead but the ability to offer some flexibility to pick up additional shifts, to provide cover in the home is always welcomed. So get in touch and have a chat with us, we'd love to hear from you!

Mō koe - About You

Skills

As well as a passion for the wellbeing of older people, you will be enthusiastic but patient and well organised with great interpersonal skills. You will share our values of empathy, compassion, and respect. In addition, you will have:

  • Minimum of Careerforce Level 2 Health and Wellbeing Certificate or above.
  • Previous experience in aged care or other healthcare assistant or support worker role
  • Ability to be an active member of a team environment
  • Good verbal communication and documentation skills
  • Basic computer skills
