Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Waikato Hospital Emergency Department is seeking a Health Care Assistant for a permanent, part-time role. The position involves supporting patient care, rotating shifts, and contributing to a fast-paced, collaborative team.

A typical day as a Health Care Assistant can include:

• Assisting with basic patient care
• Restocking of supplies
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment
• Other such duties that will assist with the smooth running of the department

The successful candidate will be provided with a comprehensive orientation programme and supportive staff development opportunities.

The salary for this position will be based on experience and in line with the NZNO Nursing and Midwifery Collective agreement.

About the Service

The Waikato Emergency Department is the major regional referral and trauma centre for the Midland region. We see approximately 85,000 patients per year with a broad case mix of presentations from paediatrics to geriatrics, medicine to trauma there is no aspect of emergency medical care we do not provide.
