Are you passionate about inspiring young learners to be active, healthy, and confident? Otonga School is seeking an energetic health and physical education specialist and sports coordinator to lead our students in engaging, inclusive, and high-quality learning experiences.
Otonga School is a vibrant learning community where children are at the heart of everything we do. Our students are motivated, respectful, and supported to grow through rich, engaging learning experiences.
We recognise that every learner comes with their own passions, strengths, questions, and needs. That’s why our teaching approach focuses on educating the whole child, supporting both their learning growth and personal development.
Our kura is grounded in the values of Manaakitanga, Kaitiakitanga, Manawanui, and Whanaungatanga. We foster dispositions that matter for life - being Curious, Collaborative, Creative, and Critical Thinkers.
Foundational skills in literacy and numeracy remain a strong priority. Tamariki receive explicit, teacher-directed instruction in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics, carefully tailored to their individual learning needs. At the same time, we provide opportunities for child-directed learning, where students can explore their passions, questions, and ideas in meaningful and authentic ways.
This balance ensures our students are both equipped with the skills they need and empowered to take ownership of their learning journey.
