A popular pub in Arrowtown seeks a Head Chef to lead a small team. You will focus on creating seasonal dishes using fresh, local produce while managing menu planning and budgeting. This role demands 3-5 years of experience, a strong knowledge of hygiene regulations, and a passion for the culinary arts.
Housed within a 150-year-old historic building boasting a sprawling outdoor space, The Fork and Tap is a beloved Arrowtown pub, gracefully perched on the corner of Buckingham Street.
Fresh, uncomplicated food is our specialty. From perfectly crisp fish and chips and free-range chicken liver pâté to succulent slow-cooked pork belly burgers and vibrant halloumi salads, complemented by our selection of 19 local craft beers on tap and wines from nearby vineyards.
We are looking for a Head Chef to lead and inspire our kitchen team.
You will be responsible for running a small team to create delicious food, with seasonal changes. A focus on fresh, local produce, efficiency, and team building is essential.
Responsibilities include menu planning, budgeting, estimating food & labor costs.
You will be involved throughout the hiring process of your team (when a new staff member is required) and will lead staff inductions and ongoing training.
We require you to have a thorough understanding of the FCP and hygiene regulations. Knowledge of Chomp and Loaded programs is a bonus!
Our ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in a similar role and a genuine LOVE for what you do.
