Job summary

Westpac New Zealand is seeking an Information Security Engineer to protect our technology environment. You will identify vulnerabilities, assess risk, and manage security controls while contributing to platform upgrades and new security deployments.

In this hands-on role, you will work with internal teams and vendors to uplift our cyber security maturity, focusing on protecting systems, people, and customers daily.

Qualifications

• Experience in a cyber security or information security engineering role.
• Exposure to security technologies including email security, firewalls, URL filtering, and malware protection.
• Experience with security platforms such as SIEM, PKI infrastructure, or related tooling.
• Experience working in structured change environments using tools such as ServiceNow or similar.
• Understanding of ITIL aligned change, incident, and problem management practices.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, including cloud security concepts and controls.

Responsibilities

• Protect Westpac New Zealand’s technology environment by identifying vulnerabilities, assessing risk and managing it.
• Maintain and enhance cyber security tools and respond to security threats across a fast paced enterprise landscape.
• Contribute to platform upgrades and deployment of new security solutions.
• Work with internal teams and vendors to uplift cyber security maturity.
