Job summary

Air New Zealand Limited in Auckland is seeking a GSE Support Engineer to help ensure specialised equipment and test systems are safe, compliant and ready to support aircraft maintenance and operations.

Based in Auckland, with Christchurch also considered, you will join our Tech Ops team and collaborate with engineers, OEMs and regulatory authorities to uphold safety and reliability across our maintenance and airport operations.

Qualifications

• A tertiary engineering qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or related discipline; a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer qualification would be advantageous.
• At least five years' experience in a technical engineering environment, ideally within aviation or aerospace.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, maintenance practices, regulatory requirements.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and engineering judgement; Finite Element Analysis experience would be an advantage.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and project management skills; confident with digital tools.

Responsibilities

• Assess GSE, tooling and test equipment to ensure it is safe, compliant and ready to support maintenance operations.
• Review equipment purchases and provide engineering advice that delivers safe, practical and cost-effective solutions.
• Produce engineering assessments, design records and technical documentation that support regulatory compliance and quality standards.
• Develop calibration, maintenance and equipment equivalency solutions that improve reliability and operational capability.
• Investigate engineering and compliance issues, identify risks and develop innovative solutions where standard approaches do not exist.
• Collaborate with engineers, OEMs, manufacturers and regulatory authorities to maintain safe, compliant and fit-for-purpose equipment.
