Job description

Exciting Opportunity in Christchurch where we are looking for a Group Clinical Director to work across three of our Tend Health clinics. For this role we will offer competitive remuneration and relocation package if required.

Join the trailblazing team at Tend to improve GP primary care with solutions! Are you a passionate leader and an experienced GP Fellow looking to make a meaningful impact?

Tend is searching for an exceptional Group Clinical Director (GCD) for the Christchurch region to drive better outcomes, mentor excellence, and deliver outstanding patient care in our cutting-edge onsite & online full-service general practice. This role will be mainly based in Christchurch but will also potentially require occasional travel to Ashburton.

As a Group Clinical Director at Tend, you'll lead by example, embodying professionalism, sensitivity, and respect in every interaction—whether with patients or colleagues. This is a hands-on clinical role where you’ll actively deliver GP services, while also shaping and growing care services to align with Tend’s forward-thinking model of care.

You will be part of a national clinical leadership team helping shape the future of primary care while supporting quality and safe care delivery at your local clinics.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspire and Guide: Provide mentorship, supervision, and support to empower and develop our talented GP, NP and care teams, enabling them to excel in their roles and grow with Tend's vision.
  • Collaborate and Innovate: Partner with Tend Network practices and centralised teams to align the delivery of GP, nursing, and care services across the network.
  • Lead by Example: Deliver patient care through in-person GP consults, participate in online rosters, peer group discussions, and contribute to non-patient-facing responsibilities.
  • Drive Excellence in Care: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patients receive culturally sensitive, evidence-based care through a seamless blend of in-clinic and digital services.

Why Join Tend?

  • Be at the forefront of innovation, helping to shape the future of healthcare delivery.
  • Work in a supportive, inclusive environment that values cultural responsiveness and patient-centric care.
  • Collaborate with a passionate, forward-thinking team committed to making healthcare more accessible and impactful.
  • Empower patients with the choice of in-person and digital consultations via the Tend app.

If you're a dynamic leader who thrives on collaboration and innovation, we’d love to hear from you. Come and help us create a healthier future—together.
