Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Graduate/Junior Environmental Scientist at Fraser Thomas Ltd. You will be responsible for conducting field work, sample collection, soil and water sample result analysis, research and reporting as well as providing general environmental consulting services.

In this role, you will be part of a team of 4 other Environmental Engineers/Scientists, and will receive ongoing training and support from two CEnvP's (SQEPs).

The role is primarily based in Auckland but would also involve some remote work (Waikato based).

Qualifications
  • 1-3 years’ experience in field work and surface/ground water quality assessment
  • Some soil contamination experience is beneficial
  • Background in environmental science
  • Experience in environmental consulting
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience using relevant software and tools (ArcGIS, ProUCL, Microsoft Office etc)
  • Knowledge of relevant environmental regulations and guidelines (NESCS, ANZECC, AUP:OP etc)
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field
  • Master's degree or additional certifications are beneficial but not required.
  • Current CEnvP General or working towards.
