Mercury NZ is seeking a Graduate Environmental Policy Advisor to help anticipate, understand and respond to policy, planning and sustainability changes in Aotearoa New Zealand. You will turn technical input into clear analysis, advice and practical action within Mercury’s Environmental Policy & Sustainability team.

Competenze

• Relevant tertiary qualification in environmental policy, planning, resource management, law, sustainability, or related field
• Fresh out of university or up to three years post-study experience
• Ability to think across issues and connect work into a wider programme
• Strong communication and written skills
• Curiosity, initiative and willingness to learn

Mansioni

• Monitor central and local government proposals, legislation, and plans relevant to Mercury
• Research issues, weigh evidence, and prepare concise briefings and recommendations
• Draft submissions, feedback, and presentations; support meetings and hearings
• Contribute to sustainability initiatives and annual reporting
• Maintain policy trackers and calendars to keep deadlines visible
• Build relationships across Mercury and with government agencies and stakeholders
• Take ownership of defined tasks and workstreams as confidence grows
