MEIKO Clean Solutions New Zealand Ltd in Auckland is seeking a Field Service Technician to install and commission MEIKO dishwashing systems, diagnose faults and carry out preventive maintenance at customer sites.

You will use service software, manuals and diagrams, repair electronic/electromechanical equipment, and provide customers with technical guidance. A minimum of 3 years' hands-on experience and a current driver’s licence are required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience servicing electromechanical equipment.
  • Qualificatons in electronics/electrical trade are preferred.
  • Current valid driver’s licence required.

Job description

Primary purpose: To manage the repair, calibration and maintenance of FME equipment and support systems used in the delivery of dialysis therapy. Inspect, install, perform inventory assessments and preventative maintenance, and assist medical staff and patients in the use of equipment.

Responsibilities

  1. Customers feel supported and confident with FME products
    • Demonstrate a high level of understanding, knowledge and skills in the entire Fresenius Medical Care portfolio
    • Demonstrate basic knowledge of renal disease and how FME products benefit patients
    • Provide technical resources (brochures, manuals etc)
    • Identify technical learning needs of customers (e.g. biomeds) and patients in consultation with appropriate personnel in order to support individual learning plans.
  2. Customers receive technical expertise as a value-add resource
    • Provide expert technical knowledge and instruction to personnel regarding equipment operation and maintenance
    • Provide technical support in person or via telephone to new and existing accounts. Support patients directly if/as required
    • Assist in-house biomedical technicians if/ as required and recommend further FME training as appropriate
  3. Carry out technical duties
    • Maintain and repair FME equipment in accordance with the customer contract and the FME training manual
    • Carry out proactive maintenance of all equipment as per the established servicing plan. Carry out fault finding and repair/replace equipment if/as required in order to maintain equipment in optimal performance condition.
    • Inventory levels and fleet are maintained
    • Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise at any time.
    • Communicate all maintenance and repair actions for information to customer management as required.
    • Complete the necessary paperwork for the completion of work and receive customer sign-off after their inspection
    • Promptly report all accidents, injuries and unsafe working conditions or practices
  4. Support the achievement of business results and growth in patient numbers
    • Identify customer resource needs (e.g. new products, technical support or clinical training) and provide appropriate support through liaison with the technical, sales and marketing teams
    • Build and maintain positive/ value-add working customer relationships
    • Maintain and develop existing and new customers through planned individual account support. This may involve working with other FME teams or discussing future targets with the regional business manager.
    • Monitor and report on competitor activities and provide relevant information to management
  5. Individual work is performed in support of the local team and wider company
    • Update own technical knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining professional networks
    • Demonstrate a commitment to professional development through membership of professional organisations/associations, including relevant participation in special interest groups.
    • Promote a team culture by assisting others during periods of high workloads, leave or absence so that overall objectives can be met
    • Provide input and support to technical programs as required
    • Where appropriate, become involved in FME activities including attendance at staff meetings and involvement in company events
    • Undertake other tasks as required

Field Service Technician - MEIKO Clean Solutions New Zealand Ltd

Location/Region: Auckland region

Full-time, permanent typically, 40 hours per week with possible overtime hours by mutual agreement.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 8am‑5pm.

Minimum guaranteed hours of work: 30 hours per week.

Annual gross Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 based on experience.

About the role

  • Installing and operationally commissioning MEIKO commercial dishwashing systems, washer‑disinfectors and related equipment at customer sites.
  • Examining, testing and diagnosing faults in electronic and electromechanical equipment using service software, electronic fault codes, diagnostic equipment, technical manuals and wiring or system diagrams.
  • Maintaining and repairing electronic and electromechanical equipment and associated mechanical components in accordance with MEIKO specifications and applicable New Zealand requirements.
  • Identifying defective components and determining appropriate repair solutions.
  • Repairing and replacing modular components, pumps, motors, sensors, switches, control boards and associated mechanical components where the work is within your skills and lawful authority.
  • Programming and configuring machine operating parameters, control systems and initial machine settings.
  • Conducting scheduled preventive maintenance and safety inspections.
  • Preparing and completing service reports, maintenance records and other required documentation in accordance with MEIKO standards.
  • Reporting customer complaints, recurring equipment faults and significant technical issues to the Service Manager.
  • Providing customers with technical advice, operational guidance and basic training on the correct use and care of MEIKO equipment.
  • Advising customers on servicing requirements for dishwashing systems, washer‑disinfectors and associated chemical‑dosing systems.
  • Maintaining the company vehicle, tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Assisting with loading and unloading machines and spare parts where reasonably required.

As our Field Service Technician, you will work under the direction of the Service Manager and must comply with all applicable New Zealand electrical‑safety and occupational‑registration requirements. Any prescribed electrical work must only be undertaken by our Service Manager who is legally authorised to perform that work.

About you
  • At least 3 years relevant experience servicing, maintaining and repairing commercial, industrial or similar technical equipment.
  • Relevant electronics, electrotechnology, electrical equipment, electromechanical or comparable technician/trade qualification is desirable but not a must. This is a hands‑on position and we value your practical experience examining, testing and diagnosing faults in electromechanical equipment.
  • A working knowledge of MEIKO equipment is advantageous.
  • Experience repairing and replacing defective components and test‑operating equipment following repairs.
  • Sound electronic, electrical or mechanical fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills.
  • Good organisational and time‑management skills.
  • The ability to work independently in the field while reporting to and working under the direction of the Service Manager.
  • Good customer‑service and communication skills.
  • Accurate record‑keeping and service‑reporting skills.
  • A current drivers licence.
