At the Hermitage, Aoraki/Mount Cook Alpine Village, we offer a unique guest experience in a stunning national park. Skipper guides lead tours on Tasman Lake, sharing knowledge and delivering memorable experiences with strong public-speaking and leadership skills.
This is a fixed-term or permanent, full-time role with a minimum of 60 hours per fortnight, paying 33–36 NZD per hour. Benefits include affordable rent, ongoing training, and staff perks after probation.

Our Glacier Explorers Skippers SRL offer a unique guest experience to our visitors. Our skipper guides maneuver small passenger boats to take our guests on a fun, memorable, and informative excursion on the Tasman Lake, interacting around icebergs and up to the mighty terminal face of NZ's largest glacier.
Our skipper guides are responsible for sharing their knowledge, passion, and enthusiasm for the area with our guests and delivering an unforgettable guest experience. No two days on the Tasman Lake are ever the same, and this Skipper opportunity offers variety and challenge like no other role.
Previous experience is an advantage. We provide all training to ensure that you are up to speed with our products, our services, our standards, and our expectations.
