The Opportunity

We’re looking for a GIS Specialist to join our Wellington Digital Services team, which includes GIS and Digital Consulting. You will undertake geospatial analysis, produce client deliverables, support the full lifecycle of work packages, and collaborate with the national team. Your role includes providing technical advice, resolving spatial and technical issues, and managing data in various formats. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders as part of our national GIS and data analytics discipline.

The GIS team supports multiple industries, including land development, government advisory, water, transport, and asset management. We invest in our people to deliver excellent results and offer flexible working arrangements. The role requires eligibility for an NZDF Defence Site Clearance or National Security Clearance.

About You

• 2-5 years’ experience as a GIS professional.
• Proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS toolsets (ArcGIS Pro, web, and field applications).
• Familiarity with FME software.
• Experience with spatial analysis.
• Strong communication skills.
• Enthusiasm for GIS and a desire to learn.
• Experience working with clients.

Preferred Skills

• Other GIS tools or software.
• Knowledge of Python or similar coding languages.
• Data visualization experience, e.g., Power BI.
