Earth Sciences New Zealand (ESNZ) invites Māori science graduates to apply for a 12-month graduate internship co-hosted with Te Kūwaha. Based in Taupō/Wairakei or Wellington, you’ll gain hands-on experience in geothermal and renewable energy research.

Work with leading scientists on monitoring, data analysis, field investigations, and energy systems studies, while developing skills and professional networks within ESNZ and the wider geothermal sector.

Qualifications

• Māori graduates encouraged to apply and passionate about science.
• Quals may include Earth Sciences, Geology, Geophysics, Environmental Science, Engineering, Data Science, Geography, Chemistry or Physics.
• Previous geothermal research experience is not required.

Responsabilités

• Support geothermal monitoring and research programmes.
• Analyse environmental, geological, geophysical or geochemical datasets.
• Contribute to projects focused on geothermal resource assessment and sustainable management.
• Assist with fieldwork, data collection and reporting.
• Explore how energy research supports Māori communities and regional development.
