Job summary

Kirk Roberts Consulting is seeking a junior Geotechnical Technician to join our Christchurch team, working on geotechnical investigations and reporting across a variety of projects. If you enjoy outdoor work, meeting new people and learning, we would like to hear from you.

As a Geotechnical Field Technician, you will conduct testing, sampling, logging, and analysis in the field, schedule projects, and communicate with clients while performing site observations during construction.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering or BSc/BEng in Geology/Earth Sciences/Geotechnical engineering or equivalent.

About The Role

As a Geotechnical technician with us you will be out in the field conducting testing, sampling, logging results for reporting, and conducting analysis. Scheduling projects and communicating with clients, as well as undertaking site observation and inspections of on-site works during construction.

You’ll be working with our dynamic team delivering high quality geotechnical engineering to a range of clients nationally.

About You

We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Geotechnical Field Technician who thrives in a collaborative team environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality work. Ideally, you’ll bring:

• Diploma in Civil Engineering, BSc majoring in Geology or Earth Sciences, BEng Civil specialising in Geotechnical, or equivalent qualification
• Entry level opportunity, however previous field experience is desirable
• A solid understanding of relevant NZ building codes, regulations, and industry software
• Strong attention to detail, with great planning, organisation, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and a collaborative approach to working
• A full New Zealand Drivers Licence
