Job summary

Geotechnics Ltd in Hawke's Bay is seeking a practical Laboratory & Field Technician to join our close-knit team. This primarily laboratory-based role includes field support for geotechnical investigations and construction projects, performing accurate soil, aggregate and pavement testing, and assisting with site investigations.

Training is provided; previous lab or geotechnical experience is an advantage. You will work outdoors in varying conditions, record results meticulously, and comply with

Responsibilities

Prepare and test soil, aggregate and pavement samples, including grading, moisture, compaction, CBR and plasticity.
Accurately record results and maintain laboratory equipment and work areas.
Conduct field testing using Scala, NDM, Clegg and shear vane equipment.
Assist with sampling, test pits, hand augering and general site investigations.
Travel to construction sites and work outdoors in varying conditions.
Follow relevant standards, company procedures and health and safety requirements while maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality.
