Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer for projects in the Queenstown region. The role involves hands-on fieldwork, site investigations to assess subsurface conditions, and providing engineering recommendations for foundations and earthworks.

You'll analyze soil and rock data, write detailed reports, and coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulators. The position requires a Bachelor's in Civil with Geotechnical specialization and at least four years' experience; remote field

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical specialization.
Minimum 4 years of geotechnical investigations and design experience.
Proficiency with geotechnical field equipment and data analysis software.
Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and foundation engineering.

Responsibilities

Plan and execute site investigations, including soil sampling, borehole drilling, and in-situ testing.
Analyze soil and rock data to determine engineering properties and risks.
Provide design recommendations for foundations, retaining walls, slope stabilization, and earthworks.
Prepare detailed geotechnical investigation reports and contribute to project design documents.
Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies on geotechnical requirements and findings.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols during all site investigation activities.
