Southland has a proud sporting spirit – and we’re looking for the right leader to help it thrive.

We’re seeking a fulltime, Invercargill-based General Manager to lead both the Southland Cricket Association and Invercargill Hockey (the regional sports organisation for Southland hockey).

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of two of our region’s most loved sports while building strong community connections.

Role and Responsibilities

About the Role: As General Manager, you’ll oversee the strategic, operational, and financial activities of both organisations. You’ll lead a passionate team of staff and volunteers, work alongside dedicated boards, and strengthen relationships with clubs, schools, councils, sponsors, and national bodies.

The successful applicant will be:

  • A proven leader with strategic and operational management experience.
  • Financially literate, with strong organisational skills.
  • Have a passion for sport, community engagement, and creating positive experiences.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience in fundraising or sponsorship (advantageous).
