Job description

Southern Institute of Technology is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Qualified Gardener to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about horticulture, take pride in maintaining high standards, and have a strong background in garden and landscape care.

The primary responsibilities in this role include:

  • Plant care, soil management, and fertiliser application
  • Planting, pruning, and cultivation of shrubs, trees, and flowering plants
  • Lawn care – mowing, edging, fertilising, and turf maintenance
  • General site maintenance including leaf raking, weeding, rubbish collection, and equipment cleaning/maintenance

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualities:

  • Recognised Gardening Qualification with Chemical Handling certification
  • 4–5 years of proven gardening experience (preferred)
  • Physically fit and able to work outdoors in varying conditions
  • Strong commitment to safe working practices
  • Landscape Design knowledge and practical landscaping experience
  • Strong plant knowledge and eye for detail
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Good communication skills and a positive work ethic
