Job summary

Mitre 10 MEGA Taupo is seeking a passionate plant enthusiast to join the Garden Centre team. This hands-on role in our outdoor retail space involves helping customers select plants and care solutions, working with a wide range of flora, and delivering excellent service.

The position is part-time, approximately 24 to 32 hours per week, with some flexibility and weekend/holiday availability. If horticulture and retail excite you, we’d love to hear from you.

Qualifications

• Genuine passion for plants and gardening.
• Experience in a garden centre, nursery, or horticulture role (preferred).
• Confidence identifying plants and advising on care and seasonal needs.

Responsibilities

• Providing expert advice on plants, plant care, and gardening solutions.
• Maintaining plant health, quality, and presentation.
• Watering, pruning, and general plant care.
• Merchandising, pricing, and stock rotation.
• Delivering friendly, knowledgeable customer service.
• Working safely and efficiently in an outdoor retail environment.
