Job summary

Bidfresh in Canterbury is seeking individuals to join our night-shift packing team. You will pack fresh fruit and vegetables, ensuring orders are completed before the trucks depart, in a chilled pack-room environment.

Training is provided; lifting is required and you may have a mid-week day off. You must live in New Zealand and be comfortable working in a fast-paced setting with a small but close-knit team.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift and handle boxes.
• Able to work in a pressured environment to meet order deadlines.
• Comfortable working in a chilled pack room.
• Willingness to learn about produce items.

Responsibilities

• Pack fruit and vegetables on nights.
• Ensure orders are completed before trucks leave.
• Maintain product quality and hygiene in the pack room.

Job description

At Bidfresh, we deliver the freshest fruit and vegetables to our customers every day. Our team that pack our fruit & veg are at the heart of getting produce to local Canterbury businesses by making sure the right product is picked, then packed and ready to be delivered at the right time.

Well over half the team have been with us for 5+ years, and now we find ourselves in need of a couple of others to join us:

On Nights (9.00 pm to 5.30 am) Sunday to Friday

These are full-time roles though there is an option for a mid-week day off . We don’t work Saturdays.

One to one training is provided to get you up to speed, though you do need to:

• be able to do some lifting
• be able to work in a pressured environment to get the orders done before the trucks leave
• be happy working in a chilled pack room
• know your Kiwi Fruit from your Kumara (though we can teach you that too!)

You will have access to all Bidfood products at a cost price. With rising food costs this is something to take full advantage of.

We’re great small team of 16 who enjoy having a laugh together, and are also part of the larger Bidfood network of 2,200 people. This means you get a small company feel where opportunities are vast.
