Job summary

Serko Ltd is seeking a frontend/backend engineer to shape the application experience layer, building web apps, BFFs, and orchestration services. You will work with Product, Design and Engineering to ship high-quality features that are accessible and responsive.

Responsibilities include delivering well-scoped features, implementing designs in Python-based endpoints, and contributing to AI-powered capabilities while maintaining strong testing and metrics-driven quality.

Qualifications

• Proficient in React/Next.js with production-grade front-end features.
• Experience building APIs in Python or another backend language.
• Strong focus on accessibility and semantic HTML, keyboard navigation, and ARIA.
• Ability to balance speed and quality, adapt to priorities, and write tests.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product, Design and Engineering to uphold high engineering standards.
• Translate customer problems into small, shippable features with clear acceptance criteria.
• Deliver features independently to production aligned with the stack and design system.
• Implement accessible UI designs and ensure responsive behavior, handling loading and error states.
• Build BFF endpoints in Python and contribute to AI/agent-powered features as needed.
• Write tests first, monitor quality with metrics, and support deployment and on-call tasks.
• Lead small projects with planning, stand-ups, and stakeholder updates.
• Share knowledge, review peers, and help align the team on best practices.
