Job summary

Ngaio School in Wellington, NZ is seeking an outstanding bilingual teacher to lead a new French–English unit starting in 2027, subject to MOE confirmation. This role shapes a dual-language pathway delivering the NZ Curriculum in both languages.

You will immerse learners in a rich, authentic bilingual environment that celebrates language, culture and belonging, and collaborate with staff and whānau to establish high-impact learning.

Qualifications

• Fluent in both French and English; confident to teach across both languages.
• New Zealand registered teacher or eligible for registration.

We are seeking an outstanding, passionate French-English bilingual teacher to lead the establishment of our new French-English bilingual unit starting in 2027 (subject to final Ministry of Education confirmation).

This is an exciting opportunity to shape a brand-new pathway that delivers the New Zealand Curriculum in both French and English. Our learners will be immersed in a rich, authentic dual-language environment that celebrates language, culture, and belonging.

We are looking for a teacher who:

• is fluent in both French and English, with the confidence to teach across both languages
• is a New Zealand registered teacher (or holds current NZ teacher registration eligibility)
• creates engaging, high-quality learning experiences that inspire curiosity and a love of learning
• builds strong, positive relationships with children, whānau, and colleagues
• sets high expectations while nurturing every learner to thrive
• is organised, reflective, and excited to help establish a new bilingual pathway
