DSV Air & Sea is seeking to hire a skilled and passionate Freight Forwarder, Operations in Christchurch.

The position is responsible for liaising with customers & suppliers in an effective and timely manner whilst directing, compiling and completing the necessary documentation within the operations (import/export) team. This position is required to ensure that all tasks are carried out in accordance with company and regulatory requirements. This is a full-time role with 40 working hours per week.

Key Tasks:

1. Work together with import & export team to ensure quality and accuracy of work delivered
2. Carry out import/export workflow processes in accordance with management directive, customer instructions, SOPs, and specified requirements
3. Establish and maintain strong client relationships with DSV customers (internal and external), suppliers and service providers both locally and overseas.
4. Communicate (verbal and written) with customers, suppliers, and other team members to obtain information or communicate issues.
5. Solve issues relating to information recorded on documents, calculations of costings and load size.
6. Plan and prioritize shipments from the import/export workbench to achieve milestone requirements, designated KPIs and deadlines.
7. Handle operations issues with a range of stakeholders including but not to limited: airlines, shipping lines, transport providers, co-loaders and customers.

Qualifications & Experience:

1. Minimum 2 years’ experience in Freight Forwarding (air and/or sea) with a strong understanding of logistics operations.
2. Bachelors or Diploma in Operations & Supply Chain Management or Logistics.
3. Excellent communication and customer service skills, ensuring seamless client interactions.
4. Strong numeracy skills, including monetary calculations and weight measurements.
5. Proven ability to plan and coordinate tasks to achieve desired outcomes within strict timeframes.
6. Experience using CargowiseOne for efficient freight management and operations.
